Although I am not at the forefront of Knox Hockey, I am very much there behind the scenes and up to speed with everything.

We continue to struggle to get numbers for games yet feedback is that people want games. Organising these matches takes up a significant amount of time and although there is some Active Schools support, things are still being driven by parents, or more accurately 1 parent at the moment. This is a big undertaking when you are a volunteer who is not based in the school to chase players up, promote the games etc. To make things a little easier, there’s one simple thing everyone can do to help – respond to TeamApp events with a yes or a no asap.

Knowing available players means that we can negotiate with other schools as to what games we can play. Without this information games cannot go ahead and cancelling fixtures regularly is a slippery slope to have no fixtures at all. This would be such a shame given we secured sponsorship from Paris Steele over the summer to fund new strips.

So, if you get a TeamApp notification or an email about Knox Hockey, please can you respond and help us help the youngsters get lots of good quality game time.
